We are going to be doing an update to the site that may remove some customization we’ve added. If it does we will work to get the customization back in place as soon as possible.
It’s currently 4:32am EST, and we are starting now. The update will take a few minutes, but re-customization may take a few hours.
We’ve added two new videos this week. and due to a few idea changes we will be updating all of the videos to stream directly from our YouTube account instead of mixing them from ours and the Black Misery account. Also, we are going to be using new playlists from our account instead of the Unbounded Productions account. This will all look like silent updates here on our site, but it will help us out a lot in the long run.
In this process we are deleting old private videos that no longer seem to hold any importance to our account. They are all over on the Unbounded Productions page anyway.
Another thing that we are going to be working on is a new video page that will list the songs in a much better manner. The new YouTube playlists do not do a very good job of this.
This stuff should be implemented over the next few days if not by later tonight.
All of our Audio in the Media section has now been moved, renamed, and re-detailed in a new manner on the Unbounded Productions server. This means all of the links have changed as well for any that may of been given out for download.
On top of the Audio changes we have also added several new song files to the list. A brand new demo of the Madness called the Elevator Mix, which is bass, drums, synth strings, and acoustic guitar, has been added to the site, as well as The full “Intro” and “Outro” tracks that were going to be on the Black Misery EP Dark Risings.
We’ve also updated the Media sections front page with descriptions about each sub page. At the moment we are looking into a better way of presenting the videos, and looking into creating a streamable photo gallery of photos of the band. Once the new photo gallery is implemented we will be removing the photo gallery found on the site here, as it takes up way too much space on our server.
We’ve also done several other updates over the last few days, but most of them were minor and I honestly cannot remember what they were.
This list will be updated throughout the day, but I wanted to go on and start listing what has been done.
We’ve posted about this in other categories as well, but felt we should go on and make an official site updates post to address the recent activity here on our site.
We’ve upgraded to a new version of WordPress, which offered so much extra stuff built into the native theme that we couldn’t pass up on a major update. After upgrading we customized the native theme to our liking, and even kept a little of the old Madness theme around. Originally we had planned to keep as much of the old theme as possible, but everything looked so good without adding the extra background images that we felt they were no longer needed. All of the extra modifications would of just been unnecessary work.
The new theme allows us to have new header images, and to randomly display them with each page load. With this feature we can easily have our page looking different and fresh all the time.
We’ve also updated the content of most of the pages on the site, and even separated some of the pages from their original parent sections. A lot of stuff was listed under Community that we felt didn’t belong there.
