For AOL Instant Messenger click on the icon you want and it will automatically update your aim to display it.
For Y!IM and Windows Live Messengers right click on the icon you want to use and choose Save Images As.
Save the icon to your computer somewhere that you can find it.
You will then be able to set it up as your Buddy Icon.
These Icons should work with other Instant Messengers with Buddy Icon Support as well.
If the automatic AIM Icon does not work follow the same directions for Y!IM and WLIM.
