Born into Christianity
Wanted nothing more than to be
Just another blind devotee
Never gonna let me be just meI say my prayers just like you
But I want to choose my own way
There’s always someone trying to tell me what to do
Live your life for God they say, But I’ll live my life for meTake the path well traveled
To find the easy way
Take the path less traveled
For more adventure they sayI say my prayers just like you
But I want to choose my own way
There’s always someone trying to tell me what to do
Live your life for God they say, But I’ll live my life for meI searched the world over to find God tonight
Gotta let him know just what’s in my sight
I searched the world looking for my own light
Light my torch and blaze my trail tonightI’m looking for a way to win this fight
Gotta show the posers that they’re not right
I’m looking for a way to exert my might
And show them all that this is my rightMake your own path
To find you own way
Live your own life
For no one else I sayI say my prayers just like you
But I want to choose my own way
There’s always someone trying to tell me what to do
Live your life for God they say, But I’ll live my life for me

It’s about a guy who is born into a christian family, and wants out basically.
He takes everybody’s crap for a long time, but then just can’t take it anymore.
Born Into Christianity was written when a friend tried to force me to become not only a christian,
but the perfect christian.
I felt as though all of the sudden I had went from being myself to being thrown
in the middle of this huge mess.
I was interested in hearing the “Christian Side” about everything, but wanted to take it slow.
So having that forced on me just drove me to saying “The Hell With It!”
