Homeless

Lyrics

I see him, Sitting there
On his, Corner
He’s holding, His sign
“Homeless, Please help”

I offered him food, I offered him work
But he only refused, My good intent
To help him, Why?
“It’s money that I want, Be on your way now”
His words to me, How can someone homeless
Be so unwilling, To help themselves? Yeah

Driving home, I see him
Going in, The liquor store
Then again, The next day
At his home, Getting smashed

I offered him food, I offered him work
But he only refused, My good intent
To help him, Why?
“It’s money that I want, Be on your way now”
His words to me, How can someone homeless
Be so unwilling, To help themselves? Yeah

The next day, Again there
He sits, Sign in hand
Getting his, Free Ride
Off the wealth, Of others

I offered him food, I offered him work
But he only refused, My good intent
To help him, Why?
“It’s money that I want, Be on your way now”
His words to me, How can someone homeless
Be so unwilling, To help themselves? Yeah

Interpretation

Homeless is about the homeless beggers you see on the side of the road, and how some of them actually live.

Inspiration

I used to see beggers on the side of the road every day on my way to work.
Several times I witnessed a so called homless person refusing help because all they wanted was money.
I then witnessed the same guy going into his house after work.
The next day on my way to work again I drove by his house, and he was sitting on the front porch drinking liqor.
