Midnight Raiders

Lyrics

Somebody help me, I am lost in, My own ways
Someone help me, Find myself, Again

It’s time to ride again my friend

The moon arises
The midnight hour strikes
And the midnight raiders
Steal your dreams again

Lost my heart, To an angel, And my soul
To the devil, For her loving, Me

It’s time to ride again my friend

The moon arises
The midnight hour strikes
And the midnight raiders
Steal your dreams again

She cast me out of her heart
Like a piece of trash to the curb
She toyed with me for so long
But today I took enough hurt
It’s time to mend my broken dreams
And take a stand to the midnight raiders

The moon arises
The midnight hour strikes
And the midnight raiders
Steal your dreams again

She has awakened what lie inside
Now the evil radiates from me
And you can see the true me
Mending all my broken dreams
I’ll rape you of your sanity
And defeat the midnight raiders

Interpretation

Midnight Raiders is about all kinda thieves all rolled into one.
The song is about people who steal your heart then stomp on it,
things that go bump in the night and wake you up from a good dream or even a nightmare,
and the people that you love but can never be with,
because they steal your emotions that you could be giving someone else.
When we play this I see shadow raiders sneaking down a beach outside of a castle,
which is why it’s named Midnight Raiders.

Inspiration

I was inspired to write this song at a point in my life when I felt like everything I loved had deserted me.
When I turned to the one person who had always been there for me she turned her back on me.
I then someone else who never had turned their back on me and they didn’t this time either.
She made me take a stand to the Midnight Raiders of my world.
