Pay The Price

Lyrics

Deaf ears turn to me, A million every day
“Wanna look good,” they say, Pay the price anyway

I wanna look good, I wanna be cool
I’m gonna kill myself, Either way I go
Stupidity, Rules the world
Today and, Forever more

Deaf ears turn to me, Every time I say
Don’t cook yourself, A tan’s not worth it

Deaf ears turn to me, Every time I pray
Why is being thin, So damn important?

I wanna look good, I wanna be cool
I’m gonna kill myself, Either way I go
Stupidity, Rules the world
Today and, Forever more

Stomach churns in me, Every time I hear
The cries for the dead, Who paid the price

She took some X
To roll with her friends
Thought it made her cool
Now she’s cold and dead
With holes in her brain

She laid out all day
Wanted to get a tan
Thought it made her hot
Now she’s got six months
With cancer of the skin

He went to party
Wasted from the binge
Thought it made him bad
Now he’s six feet under
Alcohol poisoning

She starved herself
Wanted to be thin
Thought guys would want her
Now they cant even see her
Because she is dead

I wanna look good, I wanna be cool
I’m gonna kill myself, Either way I go
Stupidity, Rules the world
Today and, Forever more

Deaf ears turn to me, A million every day
Plain and simple truth, Stupidity rules the day

Interpretation

Pay The Price tells the tales of several people who want to fit in with the so called cool people
so bad that they do stupid things that harms them to look cool.

Inspiration

Almost everyone in the world has tried to fit in with a group because they felt the group was cool.
I’ve known some people who take the whole thing a way too far and start starving themselves or stupid things like that.
I’ve known people who have laid out in the sun for a tan then ended up with skin cancer.
I could go on forever, but you get the picture.
