While working on The Madness I’ve also been working on Black Misery’s cover of So Cold (Breaking Benjamin), and a Blissful Misery surprise. I am really enjoying being able to work on whatever music I want when I want. This is the life!

For the last few days I’ve been organizing all of the music I’ve ever written into a new hard copy file system. I will be creating hard copies of all the information, notation, and lyrics on each song as I work through them. This will allow me to much much more easily find and work on songs. With everything being computerized it’s sometimes hard to remember exactly where something is saved. This new system will hold locations of every digital file dealing with the songs as well. Also, I have to give Jessica, from Black Misery & Unbounded Productions, a great big thank you for helping me organize and file everything.

For 12 years or more I’ve been writing lyrics and music. For a long time I didn’t have the opportunities to write my lyrics with a computer, because I usually wrote them while I was in between classes in college, on breaks at work, or while out of the house. However, the last couple of years I’ve almost always tried to write lyrics on the computer exclusively. Going through all of these songs to file them has made me realize that writing on a pad of paper actually inspires me more, while writing on the computer gives me writers block. For this I’ve about decided to exclusively write all of my songs with pen and paper from now on. Sure I’ll transfer them to the computer, and maybe even make a few tweaks here and there, but there’s nothing like hand writing a song.

I have somewhere close to 100 or maybe more songs already filed in my new system. However, I probably have twice or three times as many songs.
